Our story

We are a family from northern Norway, with a long-standing passion for Italian culture, food, and wine. For many years we dreamed of having a place of our own in Italy—somewhere to slow down and savor life.

In 2023, that dream came true when we found and fell in love with a house in Cavatore, a small hilltop town in beautiful Piedmont. Surrounded by vineyards, rolling landscapes, and a community rich in history, it felt like the perfect place to begin our Italian chapter.

Our family uses the house during spring and autumn, when the air is gentle and the vineyards burst with life. During the summer months of June, July, and August, we open the doors to guests who wish to experience the same magic of Italian living that drew us here in the first place.

Cooking and sharing meals have always been at the heart of our family life in Norway. In Piedmont, with its world-class wines, truffles, cheeses, and fresh seasonal produce, we have found a true paradise for food lovers. Every stay is a celebration of flavors, enjoyed in good company .

For us, this house is more than just a holiday home—it is the fulfillment of a dream. And now, we are delighted to share it with others who seek the charm, taste, and beauty of “la dolce vita” in Piedmont.

The Villa del Martellos family crest is a collection of symbols who represents who we are and where we come from. The polar bear and the rose represent our hometowns, while the wine glass reflects our passion for Italian wine and the reason we bought the house. The north star represents our arctic roots, and the hammer honors both Hammerfest and Vikhammer, the places that shaped our journey. This is altso the background for the villas name, witch means: The Hammer Villa.
